Assistant Site Superintendent

We are currently looking to add an experienced, enthusiastic Assistant Site Superintendent for our full time, permanent position at our Edmonton based Health Care Centre project.

Typical Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
• Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of subcontractors
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
• Manage project budgets
• Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
• Hire and supervise staff
• Prepare required reports
• Develop and implement quality control programs
• Oversee the analysis of data and information

Requirements
• Completion of post-secondary studies in construction, building technology, engineering or a similar field
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification
• 1-3 years Canadian commercial construction experience
• Previous experience working on a military base is considered an asset
• Experience managing projects in excess of $15 million
• Previous experience overseeing construction job sites
• Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Ability to build and foster positive, productive and long lasting relationships
• Highly organized and able to prioritize responsibilities
• Results orientated with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects
• Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Government of Canada Security Clearance – Reliability Level

Working Conditions
• Construction job sites
• Out of town depending on project locations
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work additional hours if required
• Lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs
• Use of personal protective equipment
• Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods
• Walking, bending and kneeling is required
• May be required to climb ladders and navigate inclined ramps to job sites

AMAN Builders offers a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. The current annual salary for this position is $70,000.

Commissioning Coordinator

Job Purpose
The Commissioning Coordinator is responsible for ensuring mechanical and electrical scope of work conforms to the Contract.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a commissioning plan that outlines staffing, materials, equipment, subcontracting, and other services that are necessary to deliver the project on time and within budget
• Coordinate & review drawings specifications & shop drawings and ensure it meets contract documents
• Monitor and oversee the efficient use of materials and equipment and the contractual performance of the project
• Review consultant statements of work to ensure commissioning requirements are clear and comply with DCC quality assurance requirements
• Identify potential commissioning problems and make recommendations to construction coordinator on possible solutions
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners representative and DCC
• Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and client’s expectations
• Review testing procedures as identified within the Contract documents, prior to the execution of tests
• Prepare and conduct the training schedule and submit the content to DCC for review

Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology or Building construction
• 10 years of experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager or Construction Manager on a $30million medical related facility
• Must know how to identify hazards and safety compliance
• Must be competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and follow instructions
• Be an effective problem solver and possess analytical skills
• Be highly motivated, solid follow up skills and able to work with minimal supervision

Project Manager

AMAN Builders Inc. is looking for an Intermediate to Senior Level Project Manager to join our growing team. This role requires experience working on multi-disciplinary, commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with clients and all stakeholders related to the project
• Responsible for managing and coordinating the project design, budget and schedule
• Work collaboratively with the project team to discuss progress, risks and solutions in order to meet scheduled dates
• Provide strong leadership to team members to ensure project targets are achieved
• Maintain, track, and report all financial aspects of the project including forecasts and billings
• Lead and implement the procurement process for subcontractors, trades, and suppliers

Key Qualifications:

• Construction related degree/diploma preferred
• At least 10 years of commercial construction experience
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, project management and cost controls
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
