Intermediate & Senior Superintendents
Permanent - Full Time

Responsibilities
• Effectively managing and coordinating own workforce, equipment, materials and trade contractors to attain targeted profit and schedule
• Managing cost control during construction
• Implement Quality Control Program
• Working closely with the project manager, project coordinator, owner, consultants, inspectors and trade contractors
• Proactively identifying, addressing and resolving issues and problems as or before they occur

Requirements
• Completion of post-secondary studies in construction, building technology, engineering or a similar field is preferred
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification and Journeyman Carpenter ticket is preferred
• 10 years of commercial construction experience as a Superintendent
• Experience managing projects in excess of $15 million
• Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Highly organized and able to prioritize responsibilities
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects
• Valid Driver’s license

Senior Estimator
Permanent - Full Time

Typical Responsibilities
• Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, design-build or general tender work
• Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications
• Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Advise on proposal procedures to follow
• Study and analyze proposals received
• Recommend/reject proposals and negotiate contracts
• Establish unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts
• Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingency
• Present estimates and conduct review meetings with clients
• Participate and coordinate company risk and opportunity evaluation with clients
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc
• Support other department personnel as required which may include preparing estimates for other disciplines
• Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
• Effectively determine the bid strategies required for the company to be successful
• Assist corporate and project management teams to determine what types of projects to bid on
• Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation
• Participate in presentations to management and clients. May be responsible for "closing the sale"
• Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required
• May assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required
• Various other duties as required

Requirements
• Post-secondary diploma in a related field would be considered an asset
• Commercial construction experience would be considered an asset
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a cost estimation role
• Must possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Ability to read and interpret building specifications, blueprints and as-builts
• Must possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to develop material estimates, labour estimate and interpret job costing reports
• Ability to use cost-estimating software to prepare coat quotes and bids
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, motivate evaluate and improve others performance
• Ability to build and foster positive, productive and long lasting relationships with coworkers, clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and vendors
• Results orientated with the ability to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines
• Proven ability to take initiative and confirm the accuracy of information that is sent and received
• Possess highly effective negotiation, diplomatic and conflict resolution skills
• Superb facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions and briefing in order to create consensus among stakeholders
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
• Respectful of diversity

Project Manager
Permanent - Full Time

If you want to be a part of a solution based company with a strong commitment to safety, we encourage you to apply for the Project Manager position. This role requires experience working on multidisciplinary commercial construction projects

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with clients and all stakeholders related to the project
• Responsible for managing and coordinating the project design, budget and schedule
• Work collaboratively with the project team to discuss progress, risks and solutions in order to meet scheduled dates
• Provide strong leadership to team members to ensure project targets are achieved
• Maintain, track, and report all financial aspects of the project including forecasts and billings
• Lead and implement the procurement process for subcontractors, trades, and suppliers

Qualifications
• Construction related degree/diploma preferred
• At least 10 years of commercial construction experience
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, project management and cost controls
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Carpenters, Apprentice Carpenters & Machine Operators
Permanent - Full Time

Qualifications
• Journeyman carpenter or apprentice carpenter ticket
• Possess a valid Standard First Aid Level C or higher
• Safety conscience
• Experience in commercial construction
• Finishing carpenters are preferred
• Zoom boom, skid steer and other valid tickets are an asset
• Possess a valid and clean driver’s license & willing to work out of town
• Proven ability to take initiative and respectful of diversity

Safety Officer/Advanced First Aider
Permanent - Full Time

Job Purpose
The Site Safety Officer is responsible for overall safety at the site and ensuring staff is compliant with AMAN Safety Program and any other applicable safety regulations.

Responsibilities
• Conduct training and orientation sessions for new hires and sub-contractors
• Perform tool box meetings, site inspections, and ensure any deficiencies or sub standard conditions are corrected in a timely manner
• Conduct investigations, and prepare reports on all health and safety incidences, near misses, discriminatory actions and other related workplace concerns
• Ensure an adequate supply of appropriate PPE equipment is onsite and available at all times
• Actively participate in review of Job Hazard Assessments, Safe Work Practices, Safe Job Procedures and COR Audit
• Act as a leader of safety culture and build professional relationships with all key stakeholders, both internal and external
• Organize and provide monthly safety report to Safety File Folder on a timely basis

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in safety
• Must have a valid Internal Auditor certification
• Possess a valid Standard First Aid Level C with AED or higher
• Experience in commercial construction is an asset
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification
• Advanced First Aider is preferred
• Possess a valid and clean driver’s license & willing to work out of town
• Holds strong communication skills, both verbally and written
• Highly organized and able to prioritize responsibilities
• Proven ability to take initiative and respectful of diversity

Labourer
Permanent - Full Time

Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare the job site
• Take direction and work independently to complete assigned tasks
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
• Operate jackhammers and drills
• Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations
• Measure, mark, record openings or distance to layout areas where construction work will be performed
• Provide assistance to carpenters as required
• Direct traffic at or near construction site
• Various other duties as required

Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of construction experience
• CSA approved steel toe boots
• Own transportation
• Safety tickets would be considered an asset (Zoom Boom, Skid Steer, First Aid, etc.)
